Who We Are

The Association of Cass County Lakes (ACCL) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization located in Cass County, Minnesota.  Our mission is to preserve, protect and improve Cass County lakes, waterways, and watersheds through leadership and through communication to lake associations, property owners, and recreational users about important issues, such as aquatic invasive species, water quality, and lakeshore management.

By-Laws 

ACCL is governed by a board of directors comprised of directors and officers who are responsible for its overall policy and direction. Directors serve a three-year term and are eligible for re-election. Officers shall serve one-year terms and are eligible for re-election. .

Membership consists of Cass County lake associations whose primary purpose is to protect and improve their lake environments.  Those eligible may become a member by completing and submitting an annual membership form to include the name of a designated representative, and by paying annual dues on or before the annual meeting, which is in September.  The lake association is a “full member.”  Individuals, resorts and organizations not representing an organized lake association may join and attend all association’s meetings, but may not vote on any item of business brought before the association at the annual meeting. 

 Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend meetings, which are typically held the last Friday of the month from May through September, calendar at the Backus Cass County Government Center at 218 Washburn Avenue E, Backus, MN 56435.
